Connecting students with truth, beauty, and goodness for 27 years.
A story of His faithfulness.
Veritas Academy opened in the autumn of 1996 with twenty students and three full-time teachers. Its founding families, teachers, and board members invested their time, resources, and talent into creating this special place that now serves over 300 students from all parts of Lancaster County and beyond. From the start, Veritas has aimed to provide students with a comprehensive education that emphasizes knowledge of God and His holiness, preparing them for faithful Christian service in any vocation or calling.
A Timeless Approach to Learning
Classical education is an effective approach to learning that has been around for centuries. It emphasizes language, literature, and history to develop critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills in students. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for success in any field and cultivate a love for learning and a deep understanding of the world. At its core, classical education values truth, goodness, and beauty, and prepares students to be responsible citizens in our changing world.
What is classical Education?Training Young People For Years to Come.
For the last 27 years, Veritas Academy has been committed to training students to love Jesus, place their faith in Him, and follow Him with their whole heart. These efforts are radically counter-cultural and consistently produce graduates that stand out and bless their community, our country, and world. God has continued to bless Veritas Academy with growth. We now have more than 360 students and are flooded with new applications for next year. The fields are ripe for harvest. Learn more about how we are stewarding that growth and our commitment to training the next generation.
Our Mission & Vision
The mission of Veritas Academy is to cultivate loving, serving, thinking students through a classical Christian education.
Our vision is to be a community connecting students with truth, beauty, and goodness for Christ’s calling. We achieve the vision by honoring, upholding, and affirming our mission to cultivate loving, serving, thinking students in all we do.
What we value
At Veritas Academy, we are dedicated to cultivating loving, serving, and thinking students through a rigorous, joyful classical Christian education. Our commitment to these values is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that education is not just about acquiring knowledge, but also about developing character and a deep understanding of our place in the world. These values guide our approach to education and prepare our students to become responsible, engaged, and successful members of society.
Reflecting Christ
God sent His Son to redeem sinful people and our fallen world. Our response to this grace must be gratitude toward God and grace toward others giving up our lives for theirs: protecting the needy, the young, and the vulnerable.
Excelling with Humility
Christ humbled Himself to save His people. As we learn and grow, we will fight against pride while growing toward our fullest potential and God’s calling on our lives.
Joyful Learning
We strive to love learning and to delight in all that is good with sincere hearts.
Tradition Affirming
We affirm the great tradition of learning in the Christian West and the doctrines of the Protestant Reformation. We stand on God’s Word and we value the great books and the classical method of education. We build on this foundation creating a school culture that binds us to this grand tradition.
Supporting Families
Veritas supports our families. Our goal is not to replace parents but instead to come alongside parents in their calling to disciple and nurture their children.
Our Philosophy of Education
Distinctly classical. Authentically Christian. We do things a little differently here at Veritas Academy, and everything from our culture to our curriculum is guided by a timeless and proven philosophy of learning.
